8110 Antiscalant

INDION 8110 is an aqueous anionic polyelectrolyte solution for use in reverse osmosis (RO) applications. It inhibits the formation and growth of alkaline earth carbonate and sulfate scales. It also disperses suspended solids and colloids

   Corrosivity

INDION 8110 is supplied at pH 3.0 to 4.0 and therefore does not require corrosive labeling or placards. Based on test results using the NACE Standard TM-O1-69(76) test procedure, INDION 8110 is not considered corrosive

  Aquatic Toxicity

Aquatic toxicity testing indicates that INDION 8110 is relatively non-toxic to rainbow trout, daphnia, algae, inland silverside and mysid shrimp. Test results are available on specific request.

Packaging

INDION 8110 is available in packing of 5 kgs, 30 kgs and 200 kgs respectively.

Dosing

Typical dosage of INDION 8110 for controlling scale formation and minimising fouling in RO systems ranges from 3 to 10 ppm. A dosage projection is required for each system to determine the proper dosage. A complete water analysis is required and a filter analysis is recommended as a basis for accurate dosage projection

Features   Benefits
  • Excellent threshold inhibitor of alkaline earth scales
  • Minimises or eliminates acid feed for scale control.     Inhibits the precipitation of:
    - CaCO3 at an LSI (or S & DSI ) up to +2.3
    - CaSO4, up to 1.8 times supersaturation
  • Excellent crystal distorter
  • Modifies the crystalline structure of scale-forming     minerals such that they do not adhere well to     membrane and equipment surfaces, thus improving     system efficiency
  • Dispersant of suspended solids and colloids
  • Helps maintain suspended solids and colloids in     suspension until rejection, thus minimising fouling
  • Effective at low dosages
  • Cost-effective
  • Approved for use by all major membrane manufacturers
  • Use in accordance with recommendations will not     violate membrane warranties
  • Environmental approval certification
  • Accepted by National Sanitation Foundation,
        U.S. Environmental Protection Agency,
Florida Department of Enviromental Regulation, and
U.K. Department of Energy for use in potable water
        RO systems
  • Contains no phosphorus
  • Complies with stringent effluent discharge requirements     for phosphorus
  • Water soluble
  • Can be injected as neat product or diluted as required
  • Hydrolytically, thermally, biologically stable
  • Retains activity during storage and use
  • Consistent product quality
  • Ensures predictable performance
