INDION 3010 Cleaner
GENERAL

INDION 3010 Cleaner was specifically developed for removing silica, metal sillcates, metal oxide/hydroxides, and other colloidal/particulate based foulants from RO membranes. INDION 3010 Cleaner is also effective in removing calcium carbonate, calcium phosphates, and silt.

DESCRlPTION AND TYPICAL PROPERTIES

INDION 3010 Cleaner is a proprietary blended product supplied as a granular powder and has the following properties:

Form/Appearance White granular powder
Bulk Density (lb/ft3 ) 55
pH of a 2% Solution in Water 4

USE CONSIDERATION

We recommend using a 2% INDION 3010 Cleaner. solution (1 lb product per 6 gal water) for removing deposits from RO membranes. The requlred volume of cleaning solution and product quantity can be estimated using the mix rate above and Table 1. INDION 3010 Cleaner is suitable for cleaning most RO membranes.

PACKAGING

INDION 3010 Cleaner is supplied in 40 lb (net) plastic bags packaged inside cardboard boxes
(12" x 12" x 9") with cardboard liners.

  *   Flow per one vessel.
  ** Volume per one element.

NOTE A : Estimate of the high total flow (HTF) or medium total flow (MTF), expressed in gpm, to the section to be treated when there are multiple pressure vessels in parallel:

HTF = #U x HF (or) MTF = #U x MF       Equation 1

Where

  •   #U is the number of vessels in parallel.

  •   HF or MF are the high flow or medium flow per vessel from Table 1 above for
      the appropriate RO/UF DIAMETER.

    NOTE B : Estimate of the cleaning solution volume (V) expressed in gallons:

    V = #M x VOL x 5                            Equation 2

    Where

  •   #M is the number of elements.

  •   VOL is the VOLUME of one element from Table 1 above for the appropriate
      RO/UF DIAMETER.

    NOTE C : Estimate of the INDION Cleaner quantity (Q) required expressed in pounds:

    Q = V x MR x 8.34                           Equation 3

    Where

  •   V is the cleaning solution volume defined in Equation 2 above.

  •   MR is the cleaner mix ratio as defined ahead

    NOTE D : Estimate of flush time (t) expressed in minutes:

    t = (#EL x VOL)/HTF                           Equation 4

    Where

  •   #EL is the number of elements/permeators.

  •   VOL as defined in NOTE B above.

  •   HTF as defined in NOTE A above.
